Therapy At Hand offers access to an occupational therapist with extensive experience in both neurological and orthopedic disorders with credentials you can trust. Karen Murray, CHT, OT is a licensed occupational therapist and certified hand therapist (CHT) with over 25+ years of experience. She is the author of the www.stroke-rehab.com website, a certified LSVT BIG provider, a certified stroke rehab specialist, and a certified personal trainer. Her expertise is invaluable for those who want to make further gains with hand mobility and coordination but haven’t been able to with previous therapy centers.
Private Pay Services
Self pay only. We do not accept insurance or provide Superbills at this time. MD referral required for OT services.
Medicare patients cannot use the self pay option for our OT services due to regulations.
LSVT BIG® is a 4 week program consisting of an evaluation and 16 one-on-one treatment sessions for people with Parkinson’s disease (PD) and other neurological diagnoses.
LSVT BIG trains people with PD to move their body more normally through increasing their amplitude/effort level with exercise, functional tasks, and walking. Treatment trains a person to “recalibrate” their effort level and how and when to apply that extra effort to produce bigger motions – more like the movements of everyone around them.

Cost $1750 for OT evaluation plus 16 treatment visits over a 4 week period. This is an in home service available in Allen, TX only.
Personal Training
In addition to being an occupational therapist, Karen is an ACE Certified Personal Trainer and has a B.S. Degree in Kinesiology, Health Promotion & Fitness. She can provide personal training services to clients who have been discharged from therapy and would like to continue a fitness routine at home. Please note that personal training services are not therapy services and are only for those who have been released by their MD to participate in a fitness program.
Personal training services can enhance muscular strength/endurance, flexibility, cardiorespiratory fitness, and any of the motor skill related components of physical fitness (i.e., balance, coordination, power, agility, speed, and reaction time). Karen’s focus is on working with clients who are post-therapy.
Cost $75 per 60 min treatment session online
$90 per 60 min treatment session in home (available in Allen, TX only for in home service)
Occupational therapy services are provided to help stroke patients improve arm movement, upper extremity and hand coordination, balance, transfers, vision/perception, and activities of daily living (e.g. dressing, grooming, cleaning, cooking, yard work, typing, writing, work skills, etc.)

Telehealth (Texas Only)
Telehealth services are provided remotely through video conferencing. The occupational therapist will work with a patient one-on-one to assess impairments, provide education, and offer exercises.
Telehealth therapy can be a great option for patients. Some benefits include:
Accessibility: Patients can receive care from home.
Continuity of care: Patients can continue to receive care when having health issues that prevent traveling to a clinic.
Patient engagement: Telehealth can enhance patient engagement. There are fewer distractions than in a busy clinic.
Cost $125 for OT Eval, $100 for 60 min OT session, $50 for 30 min OT session.
Hand therapy services provided by a Certified Hand Therapist for those who have arthritis, hand/wrist injuries, and coordination issues. Due to services being provided via telehealth, custom-made orthoses (splinting) services are not available from Therapy At Hand. If your MD has ordered a custom orthosis to be made, you will need to consult with a therapy clinic that offers that service.
Hand therapy consists of rehabilitation of the upper limb, which includes the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder girdle. A certified hand therapist (CHT) receives advanced training consisting of more than 4,000 clinical hours and board certification testing by the Hand Therapy Certification Commission (HTCC).
